Lǐ xiān sheng kàn le hǎi bào yǐ hòu shuō:“Lǐ Míng, nǐ de shè jì bèi tài duō yuán sù pò huài le。 Zhè jiù xiàng ‘huà shé tiān zú’。 Gǔ dài yǒu yī gè rén huà shé, tā huà de zuì kuài, dàn shì tā gěi shé huà le jiǎo, jié guǒ shū le bǐ sài。 Zhǐ yǒu jiǎn dān、 qīng chu de shè jì cái shì hǎo shè jì。”

Lǐ Míng lǐ jiě le zhè ge wèn tí。 Tā chóng xīn shè jì hǎi bào, zhè cì hěn jiǎn dān、 hěn piào liang。 Tā de jiā rén hé péng you dōu hěn xǐ huān。 Lǐ Míng míng bái le: Yǒu shí hou, shǎo jiù shì duō。

Episode 1: The Designer Who Drew a Snake and Added Feet (to ruin something by adding unnecessary extras)

Li Ming is a young graphic designer. He works at an advertising company and studies design hard every day. His teacher is the company’s boss, Mr. Li. Mr. Li is also Li Ming’s good friend and often helps him.

One day, Mr. Li asked Li Ming to design a poster for a concert. Li Ming was very happy and spent a lot of time on the design. However, he made the poster too complicated. The poster had many colors, many words, and many pictures.

After looking at the poster, Mr. Li said, “Li Ming, your design has been ruined by too many elements. This is like ‘drawing a snake and adding feet.’ In ancient times, a man drew a snake the fastest, but he added feet to the snake and lost the competition. Only a simple, clear design is a good design.”

Li Ming understood the problem. He redesigned the poster, and this time it was very simple and beautiful. His family and friends all liked it very much. Li Ming learned that sometimes, less is more.
